Down East Spring Birding Festival

A unique birding experience in the scenic Cobscook Bay region of Washington County, Maine, during spring migration and the breeding season. Habitats include dramatic rocky coast, offshore islands, mudflats, sand beach, boreal and northern hardwood forest, grassland, bogs, blueberry barrens, fresh and salt water marshes, and inland waters.

Four days of guided hikes, nature walks, freshwater paddles, ocean boat tours, and presentations. Experienced local guides, dark night skies, and delicious local food. Visit Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Quoddy Head State Park, Machias Seal Island (nesting Atlantic Puffins).

Headquartered at the Cobscook Community Learning Center, co-sponsored by Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge.
