Chequamegon Bay Birding & Nature Festival

May 16-18, 2019 (Thursday-Saturday) is the Chequamegon Bay Birding & Nature Festival. 3 days of birding and nature activities on Wisconsin’s South Shore of Lake Superior at the peak of spring migration.
There are over 100 exciting field trips and informative programs to choose from. The headquarters for the festival will be the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, 29270 Co. Hwy G., 2¼ miles west of Ashland, Wisconsin.
Birders and nature lovers of all skills and ages will find a wealth of choices at this year’s festival. Renowned speakers and trip leaders will be on hand to lead, instruct, and add their knowledge and birding and nature experiences to the field trips and programs at this year’s Festival.
Sharon Stiteler, The Bird Chick will be the Friday Night Keynote Speaker:The Bird Chick has written the books Disapproving Rabbits, City Birds/Country Birds, and 1001 Secrets Every Birder Should Know. She is #32 in the Geek A Week Trading Card set and works part-time as a National Park Ranger for the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. She appears regularly on TV and radio, including Outdoor News Radio, All Things Considered and has been on NBC Nightly News answering bird questions. When she’s not digiscoping or performing improv, she’s a blue-ribbon beekeeper.
