27th Annual Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival

May 9 - May 12

Alaska’s largest wildlife viewing festival honors the return of spring and it’s breathtaking bird migration. Homer’s seaside setting is perfect for spotting over 130 migratory bird species, as well as numerous other resident species. Field trips on land and water, presentations, and our popular Jr. Birder Program are all on schedule for the festival.

Our 2019 Festival will host Keynote Speaker Jennifer Ackerman, as well as Featured Presenters Raymond VanBuskirk and Iain Campbell. Our distinguished guests will present a variety of workshops and lectures, including presentations on Ackerman’s new book, The Genius of Birds. Campbell will offer daily photography workshops as well. This year’s featured artist is Valisa Higman!
