Our latest photo of the week is by Jeff Crawn of Newton, New Jersey. He took this picture of a female Northern Harrier in late February at the Meadowlands, an area of vast wetlands in northeast New Jersey.
“This harrier came over a hill as I sat in my car on the side of the road,” he says. “As I shot, the bird heard the shutter and turned to look at me.”
Crawn used a Canon 1DX and a 600mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.
