This image of a Bald Eagle descending through a snow storm is our new photo of the week. Gallery member Yves Guillot shot the photo in February 2011 during the Eagle Watch festival in Sheffield Mills, Nova Scotia, and posted it to our U.S. and Canada Gallery.
He was shooting photos at a field where eagles feed, and the snow was coming down hard. “In fact I had to point the camera downward to keep the lens hood from getting full of snow,” he says. “I was lucky enough to be able to focus on the bird even through this heavy falling snow.” Yves used a Canon 7D and a 600mm lens.
