Benjamin Franklin wrote a letter to his daughter about his displeasure that the Bald Eagle had been choosen to represent the national bird. He further wrote that the Turkey was a much more respectable bird and true original Native of America. I think Benjamin Franklin would have been pleased with this picture.
I captured this picture as I was driving the back roads home due to a traffic jam on the freeway. As I was driving a flock of Wild Turkeys were crossing the road in front of me, so I pulled over to photograph them. This Turkey caught my eye because the lighting was perfect and its hues were gleaming. As I was photographing it I realized it was about to walk in front of a red structure and I thought that would make a great background, and then I saw the flag in the window and new I had the perfect background.
