Male Painted Bunting. Image was taken with a Canon 7D using a EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM at f/2.8 1/30 sec @ 200mm. Location was the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge Information Center.
The bird was really not very cooperative and he flew away when a photographer next to me used his flash in rapid succession. 45 minutes later, the bird returned, the flash photog had left and I was able to get my picture. I balanced the camera on a wooden railing and zoomed to maximum. After waiting so long for his return, I was careful to get the shot I wanted and then moved out of the way so others could take pictures.
