For several weeks during the summer I watched a pair of killdeers pacing, squawking, and flying around as if they were trying to deter what I was doing. I accidently stumbled upon their nest with three eggs in it. I went back day after day until one day one of the eggs had hatched. The next day I went back to find the baby who had just hatched up and walking around much to my amazement. I was able to capture this photo of the little guy before he flew the coup and wandered away to who knows where.
