This photo was taken June 22, 2014 at the Indian Shores Black Skimmer colony on the gulf coast of Florida. I was there a couple of times and it was an amazing experience. At this young age, they are prime targets for the gulls. I saw a few of them being taken away. I was fortunate enough to go back when they were older and I am happy to say that many survived! Taken with a Nikon D7100, SIgma 150-500 mm lens.
