Anhinga caught its fish for breakfast at the Venice Rookery in Venice, FL. The greater challenge was to get the fish off the double spear and into its mouth. That was done by vigorous shaking of the head until the fish slid off the beak, was deftly flipped into the air so that the fish fell head first down the waiting mouth and throat.
