I never imagined holding a hawk, much less rescuing one. But when this young hawk chased songbirds into my bramble, his wing became firmly wedged between two branches. I am guilty of grabbing my camera first. But after two quick photos, he let me lift his body up, so that I could take the pressure off his right wing. Using my right hand to hold him up, and my left hand to gently push his wing back and up, he was free within seconds. Definitely the most memorable 5 minutes of my life!
