Northern Flicker

Every year I anxiously await the hybrid or intergraded flickers that come to our garden for the berries. So far this year, I have photographed 7 birds with varying colors of the red and yellow-shafted. This is the first time I’ve actually found one that has half red and half yellow tail feathers. I photographed this bird with a Canon 7D, Canon 300 f/4 and a 1.4 tc.

Dear vmiller, now that’s one odd-looking bird. Any chance you could tell us generally when and where (like town) these “integrade” flickers are showing up? Also what berries the birds are eating? Many thanks.
