Homer Hansen and the Tucson Audubon Society are offering intermediate level, adult birders the opportunity to step outside, enjoy the spring and the birds that come with it. In this course, knowledge gained in the classroom is complimented by first-hand experience in the field. The five lectures introduce students to advanced issues in birding and the resources available to address them. Topics include: using technical reference works, understanding bird topography, flight and voice identification, birding by habitat, and identification of difficult species groups. Our field trips will take you on an exploration of our unique southwestern desert habitats and destinations will be selected to reinforce the topics covered in the preceding classroom session.
