We are entering our 7th year of hosting and organizing the Sax-Zim Bog Winter Bird Festival. Sax-Zim Bog has been attracting birders for years each winter season who come to view Great Gray Owls, Northern Hawk Owls and possibly a Boreal Owl or a Northern Saw-Whet Owl. Stand near feeding stations placed in the bog that attract Boreal Chickadees, Pine Grosbeaks, Gray Jays, and Common & Hoary Redpolls. Or visit nearby areas for Spruce or Sharp-tailed Grouse or watch Snow Buntings buzz around snow-covered fields. Sax-Zim Bog festival is headquartered at Meadowlands, Minnesota. A small town that has placed highway signs and road side signs welcoming birders to come and visit their neck of the woods. A small town festival offering big time birds!
