Chautauqua: “A Country So Full of Game”

Clayton County Conservation in eastern Iowa is holding a chautauqua to commemorate the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon 100 years ago. Using the 1994 book “A Country So Full of Game: The Story of Wildlife in Iowa,” by Iowa State University ecologist James Dinsmore, this will be a historical journey through Iowa’s wildlife struggles and the movement to recover threatened and endangered species.
