Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and the Tropical Audubon Society are pleased to announce the four-day Bird Festival held October 10 – 13, 2013. Two days of off-site birding tours on October 10 and 11 will take amateur and expert birders on engaging half-day or full-day walks through birding hotspots like Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park and Curry Hammock State Park. The fun continues at Fairchild on October 12 and 13 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with birding activities, music, food, a special performance by Miami City Ballet, and a talk from James A. Kushlan Keynote Speaker Ted Floyd, editor of Birding magazine, an American Birding Association publication.
Amateur photographers can participate in the “Birds of South Florida” Photo Contest by emailing their best photos and Registration Form to firstname.lastname@example.org by September 27. The 20 winning photos will be digitally displayed in the Garden throughout the festival and the top three photographers will receive a Fairchild Membership.
