Red-tailed Hawk

Marcus Armani captured this image of a Red-tailed Hawk in a high-speed dive.

The hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) stared from a perch in Pacifica, California, for about 15 minutes before it dropped into a nearly vertical dive toward the ground.

Marcus used a Canon 30D digital SLR and a 400mm f/4 DO Canon lens to take the photo.
