Cindy Marple saw this Gilded Flicker family in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Cindy Marple said these Gilded Flickers
(Colaptes chrysoides) were nesting in a busy Scottsdale park. She shot the picture from her car's sunroof, while standing on the seats with her tripod inside the vehicle. There were four chicks in all. Two fledged the next day. She used a Canon 20D digital SLR, a 500mm lens, and a 1.4X teleconverter.
