Golden-hooded Tanager

Published: July 2, 2012
Matt Sileo took this photo of a Golden-hooded Tanager in Belize and posted it to our World Gallery.

"I watched a pair of Golden-hooded Tanagers building a nest in a small tree on a riverbank in southeast Belize in late March 2012," he says. "Here, the brilliantly vibrant male conveniently poses on a branch with nesting material, just before flying to the nest in progress."

He used a Canon 7D and a 400mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.
