Lora Render of San Antonio, Texas, took this photo of Elf Owls at
Tony Battiste's Bed and Breakfast while she was vacationing in southeastern Arizona in spring 2012.
"The male leaves the nesting cavity and returns with food to feed the female," Lora tells us. "Here in this shot, he returned with a moth and waited, and she flew in and perched next to him."
