Golden-cheeked Warbler

Published: January 4, 2010
Megan Lyden, a subscriber from Bellevue, Washington, photographed this endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler in May 2009 at Lost Maples State Natural Area on the Edward Plateau of Texas.

Megan and a companion were hiking and looking for the warbler. "We could hear birds singing all around us, but had trouble seeing any. Finally, this one peaked out of the brush." She used a Canon Digital Rebel XT with a 400mm f/5.6 lens.
