He and a friend heard a few Prairie Warblers singing on top of a hill and set up their cameras. “One warbler kept landing on one of the taller perches in the area,” Buescher says. “I positioned myself so the light would hit it at a good angle and a distant hillside made a pleasing background. It wasn’t long before he came back and gave me a nice pose.”
Buescher used a Canon 5D Mark III and a 500mm f/4 lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.
