An experienced tour leader looks at Maine’s Monhegan Island the way a migrating bird sees it

The birding is good not only in late May, writes Russell, but also in late September and early October, when vagrants from the south, midwest, and west are found, including Dickcissel, Blue Grosbeak, Lark Bunting, Horned Lark, and other species. Information about when to visit, what birds can be seen, and how to get to Monhegan is provided.
