Rufous Hummingbird

Boaz Joseph shot this Rufous Hummingbird hovering near a feeder in Surrey, British Columbia, in May.

We like the way the wings of the bird (Selasphorus rufus) are bathed in light and the fact that its tongue is peeking out of its bill.

He took the photo with a Nikon D1H and a 400 f2.8 lens. The shutter speed was 1/3200 second.
