Tony Attanasio of Kaysville, Utah, captured this shot of a drake Cinnamon Teal (Anas cyanoptera) in May 2011 at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in northern Utah. Refuge roads were closed due to flooding in mid-May, but Tony was able to get this shot before the closure.

“I think the teal is showing his colors rather well in the late afternoon sun,” he says.

He used an Olympus E-30 and a 50-200mm lens with a 2x teleconverter.
