A Bald Eagle prepares to land on a bare tree branch. Troy Lim shot the photo close to the waters of Tampa Bay, Florida, where the local eagles fish. The site is “where I started learning about how to expose my photos for birds that have such big contrast in colors,” he tells us.
Troy used a Nikon D700, a 500mm lens, and 1.4x teleconverter. You can see more of his photos on his
