Rob McKay photographed this Snowy Owl
(Bubo scandiacus) as it flew toward him just east of Calgary, Alberta, in winter 2010.
“The Snowy Owls migrate here every winter,” he tells us. “We had a minimum of 30 close to the city this year.”
Rob used his Nikon D300 and a 300mm f/2.8 VR lens handheld.
