Golden-crowned Kinglet
©Bill Rapai
Published: April 28, 2008
Bill Rapai saw this Golden-crowned Kinglet at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan.

Bill says the Ford House, a museum close to Lake St. Clair, is a great place to visit during the migration season. He used a Nikon D70 and a 70-300mm lens to take the picture.

The hyperactive kinglet can be a challenge to photograph. You can see the species across North America, including these hotspots:

Dunback Meadow, Lexington, Massachusetts
Belle Isle Park, Detroit, Michigan
Morton Arboretum, Lisle, Illinois
Lands End & Sutro Heights, San Francisco, California
